– Real estate network combines to raise nearly $775,000 in 2004 – TUCSON, AZ, January 31, 2005 – The ERA® network of real estate professionals has once again displayed its enormous support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), raising nearly $775,000 in 2004 for the national charitable organization. This total represents an increase of 32 percent over the network's 2003 donation. The ERA network's contributions will be presented at the annual MDA Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, televised live from Los Angeles. "For 28 years, MDA has been honored by ERA Real Estate and its affiliates ongoing commitment to MDA," said MDA President & CEO Robert Ross. "We are proud to have dedicated corporate sponsors like ERA who share our determination to help those affected by neuromuscular diseases." ERA Franchise Systems LLC is the real estate industry's sole corporate sponsor of MDA and has raised more than $30 million for the charity since the network began supporting MDA in 1977. ERA brokers and sales associates annually participate in all manner of fund-raising events, from walk-a-thons and bowl-a-thons to black-tie galas, silent auctions, golf tournaments and bake sales. "Our brokers and sales associates strive to outdo their fund-raising efforts from the prior year, and we are proud to report they have accomplished that goal again in 2004," said P.J. Martin Smith, senior vice president of marketing, ERA Real Estate and national vice president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. "Our members continue to support MDA so enthusiastically because they are aware of the direct, ongoing impact their efforts have within their local communities."
